Facility Use

The EMC building — a great community resource!

Our church has been a unique presence in the Morningside neighborhood for more than 100 years. A historic community center that still serves our neighborhood, our spaces are available for community use–whether as a rental, by community groups, or for events directly sponsored by the church.

We have experience hosting groups and events that help build and strengthen our community, such as meetings of the Morningside Women’s Club, the Morningside Neighborhood Association, Alcoholics Anonymous, and elections for Morningside in 2020. Edina Morningside Church’s building and staff are available for weddings, baptisms, funerals — we have even provided shelter and facilities for a crew filming a commercial nearby!

The building features a beautiful sanctuary trimmed out with wood and stained glass details, plus a downstairs hall with a capacity of either 139 or 299 people, depending on whether your setup requires tables or just chairs. This Fellowship Hall also has a raised stage, which has been used by community groups for musical performances, plays, and for the very popular Morningside After Dark events that we sponsor. The sanctuary and Fellowship Hall are fully accessible via an elevator that fronts onto Morningside Drive.

Other available spaces include a flexible Meeting Room, a larger Gathering Space, and the church’s outdoor patio. With the exception of the patio, all spaces include access to wireless internet. Facility rental rates are available through the church office. Contact us to inquire about use!

Our Fellowship Hall space below the sanctuary, with a wide-open flexible format, sound system with ceiling speakers, and a popular stage for community activities. We have a number of tables and chairs for people to use for setup; we ask that you return them to storage afterward. The kitchen adjacent to Fellowship Hall is also available as a separate rental.P37A-2013 Honk
The smaller Meeting Room and Gathering Space are on the Sanctuary level, and both are flexible to accommodate a variety of uses. A kitchenette is within the Meeting Room, and the Gathering Space has a serving area.

The Gathering Space is directly outside the Meeting Room, and can be joined into one space with the wide-open glass doors. Single-person restrooms and a coatroom are just around the corner from the Gathering Space.

Finally, nothing beats the patio on beautiful days, especially with the umbrellas up if the sun gets too bright.

We hope to see and host you soon!
